About us

Rénald Côté Inc was founded by Mr Rénald Côté more than 30 years ago. In 1998, it was sold to Mr Marc Labrie, an Innu civil engineering technician with nearly 20 years of experience related to civil engineering who, back then, worked for the company.

With the company’s growth in mind, two new associates, Mr Marc Riverin and Mr Michel Miller, both experienced regional contractors with conclusive professional successes, joined the enterprise. They also injected capital, guaranteeing successful growth.

The company then changed its name, becoming Rénald Côté 2007 Inc. Its new corporate structure welcomed Mr Riverin as CEO and Mr Mario Laberge, an experienced civil engineer who graduated from Sherbrooke University in 1982, as Vice President.

Mario Laberge has practiced civil engineering for more than 30 years and also uses his knowledge as a teacher at the Cégep de Baie-Comeau since 1991. He joined RCI’s crew as main estimator and project manager in 2007. He also becomes shareholder in 2009, ensuring a longer term leadership for future projects.

His diversified professional experience, acquired by doing client work for the Régie de la Santé et des Services Sociaux as well as by working as a designer and project manager for the engineering firm TMA and the general contractor Michel Miller inc, grant the company a broader vision of the many contractual relationships and expectations of each contributor within construction projects.

Mr Marc Riverin, by his exceptional client approach and his great expertise on many levels, is able to provide wise advice and rapidly becomes essential by offering incomparable professional services as shown by his implication in the Lac Bloom mining project in Fermont.

His professionalism as well as his availability allowed the enterprise to build a trusting relationship with the senior executives of the Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines Limitée mining company because he was able to quickly show them that he was an indispensable asset for their emerging business by his approach of different technical problems and his economical and efficient solutions.

Mr Michel Miller, the other shareholder of the company, retired of RCI in November 2013. He was eventually replaced by a few essential members of the current crew, consisting of more than five experienced engineers as well as skilled supervisory staff.

As emphasized by the Champions de la construction magazine in 2011, RCI has been named the company with the most hours worked in Quebec, as declared to the CCQ, for heavy equipment operators. Similarly, in 2013, RCI was ranked the construction company with the highest revenue growth in Canada with a rate of 2605 percent and an annual turnover of over 120 million. Its performance was highlighted by the PROFIT GUIDE .COM magazine.
